New House

Well we sold ours and we bought a new one! We won't move in until June 10th, but I've already started packing and Monica helped me and we got a whole lot done!

We are all moved in and I am just waiting for Sarah to come to visit me now so I can decorate the new house. She is my personal decorator so I don"t mess anything up. I will post pictures soon. Hopefully with the new house and Tyson graduating, the adoption process will speed up.

Sad Times

Saturday we lost a member of our family. Zoey was my baby and I loved her A LOT! They told me from the day that I got her that she was going to be a sick puppy and I should put her down then. She lived seven years and was my little sidekick. If your wondering why I am posting this here, it is because like I said earlier she was a member of the family and she was a major part of the adoption process. Love ya Zoey you will always be missed.

Just an Update

We are still waiting. We had to update our background checks today. So we are free and clear again to adopt. If only we could go searching for a birthmother ourself. That might make us a look a little desperate though. Well I hope everyone stays safe in this snow storm we are getting.

Tyson and I (Julie) started our adoption journey in June of 2008. In the beginning everything was very fast pace. We began by filling out paperwork, and I mean LOTS of it. We then went through what is called a home study. The first step was meeting our case worker. We met in Saint Gen and had a minor interview, with both Tyson and I. Then our separate meetings to make sure we were on the same page. The next meeting was in our home so she could make sure that we had enough room for the baby, and that our house was safe. From that meeting we made our portfolios. This was fun, but I was very nervous that it had to be perfect. These included a "Dear Birthmother" letter. This was our chance to tell the mother a little about our self, and how much we appreciated her looking at our portfolios. Then there was a questionnaire that inquired about our religious views, our parenting views, and everything else under the sun that we thought birthmother might have questions about. The next couple of pages were pictures and fun information we thought would help "sell" us better. Once they were done we turned those in, and since have been waiting. In the beginning it seemed like we were always doing a task for the adoption and that the waiting was not that bad, now that everything is done, all we can do is wait and pray. We are both confident that God will give us our baby when the time is right, and we are just waiting for that time. Thanks for visiting the website, and I will post updates as we hear them.
